Embroidered paintings

The history of this crafts began in the early 18th century known as the era of rococo during a reign of the King Louis XV, who liked to embroider. 

At that time a main material for embroidery was a silk ribbon. People started decorate dresses, then luxury adorned linen become really popular. 

From France, this type of embroidery spreaded to England and later to all countries of The British Empire. 

Then appeared in America and rest of the Europe. The flourishing of art came in the 70s of XIX century, when the ribbon embroidery could be easily found not only on  clothes, but also on an umbrellas, handbags and even as a part of interior.
